Early Life
Jovial was born on January 1st 1993 in Mombasa County. Her tribe is mijikenda.
Jovials mother is a Luhya and she used to be a church master. Her father who hails from Tanzania was a guitarist and a preacher.
Given the occupation of her parents, she was astrick christian who prefers maintaining her spirituality because she has to make money out of her singing career which is secular.

Joviala music journey dates back when she was a young child. Having being raised in a church, she used to be a soloist in the youth group. While still in school, she used to take part in school music festivals.
At the age of 12 she recorded her first song at the Tears Records Studio which was one of the underground recording studios in Mombasa.
She later shifted to Big Sound Records to record one of her coastal hits song, ‘Mapenzi Kivyetu’.
Her second song after going silent for long was ‘Hisia’ which she recorded at SQ Records.
After relocating to Nairobi in 2013, she collaborated with Jua Kali and made a song titled ‘sina tabu‘ recorded at Calif Record and produced by Clemmo.
The biggest song that cemented her brand as an artist was the, ‘Chanda Chema’ song released under SQ Records with her personal producer in 2015.
She met Otile Brown and he signed her to the Just in Love Music Label in 2019. She was the first Signee under the label. As a token of appreciation, she was awarded a Mazda Demio car.
They released two singles together ‘Zichune’ and ‘Amor’, but she terminated the contract a few weeks later due to unknown reasons to the public.
Jovial has collaborated with major E.African artists such as Darassa, Otile Brown, Arrow Bwoy, Mejja, and many more. Her duet with Mejja, “Pakua,” has over 2.5 million views on YouTube.

She is currently single and a mother to one beautiful daughter.

Jovial was once married and had a kid. She later broke off the engagement to persue her music career. Romours says that Jovial felt the mam had no direction in life and she couldnt stand being a full housewife.
