Early Life
Wahu was born on March 22, 1980. Her parents are GS Kagwi (father) and Nyakio Kagwi (mother). His father passed on in 2013.
Her siblings are Serah Kagwi, Charity Kagwi, Daniel Kagwi, and David Kagwi. They grew up in the parklands. Her sibling’s private life is not well known since they stay away from social media.
Education
She went to Hospital Hill Primary School and later joined Precious Blood Riruta for her high school level.
While at Riruta, she and her friend wrote their first song “showers of blessing” to celebrate their impressive KCSE performance. The song was so good that it’s still used as a “school anthem”
She was a beauty with brains who joined Nairobi University and studied for a bachelor of arts in mathematics and later a master’s in communication.
Career
Wahu embarked fully into music in 2000. Before that, she had practiced her musical talents by writing a song for his brother who was diagnosed with Tuberculosis. In high school, she also made a song that is used as a school anthem to date.
Her first release was “Niangalie”, “Liar”, and “Esha”. She was later signed under the Ogopa DJs record label and released her first hit song “Sitishiki”.
The single release Niangalie received positive reception all over Africa, setting the pace for her continental career.
In 2006, she released another song ”sweet love”. Her inspiration to write the song was her daughter Tumiso.
In her early days, she sang secular music up until 2017 when she switched to gospel music. Her gospel songs are “Nifanane Nawe”, “Sifa”, and “My Everything”.
Liar hitmaker has collaborated with other artists like Kleptomaniacs, Fally Ipupa, Nonini, Nameless, Wyre, Qqu, and P-Unit.
Family
She is married to a fellow musician Nameless. Together they are blessed with 3 daughters Tumiso, Nyakio, and Shiru.
Tumiso is 15 years while Nyakio is 7 years. They both celebrate their birthdays in August. Shiru was born in 2022.
Relationship
Wahu started dating his now-husband Nameless while still on campus. The two dated for 7 years before tying the knot on 10 September 2005 in Naivasha. They celebrated their 15 years of marriage on that day.
House & Cars
Wahu lives a very Private Life. The number of cars she has and the house where she resides are not well known.
However, it’s known that she owns a mercedez benz since news surfaced online when she was arrested for driving without a license.
